The brief of this classical house was to recreate the expression of a grand Scottish Baronial country residence situated in large private grounds which are discreetly screened by use of existing mature trees and vegetation. Extensive research was carried out in order to recreate this style of architecture which frequently featured towers and often had uneven roof lines broken by stepped gables. Projecting bays and discreet dormer windows enhance this style and add a touch of elegance to the massing of this dwelling. This design was inspired by Gilford Castle, Co. Down which was designed by architect William Spence, responsible for the Linen Houses of the Bann.
