| Courtyard House, Aughnacloy, Co. Tyrone |
| The development of a large single storey dwelling, in the countryside, has its own unique challenges. The solution is to reduce the scale of the dwelling to a traditional and familiar proportion. In this instance the large dwelling was extended around a courtyard which reflected a traditional nearby farmyard cluster of buildings. This form is also reminiscent of the traditional clachan settlement pattern of rural Ireland. |
