| Dispersed rural settlements in Northern Ireland have areas zoned for development under planning legalisation. In an effort to control the type of development the planning service have put development of a maximum of five houses as a way of controlling the urban form and scale of these small towns. In this case the clusters or ‘Clachans’ of houses are reminiscent of the traditional farmhouse clusters of Ireland. |
